NOW CASTING HIGH SCHOOLERS for "IN TRANSIT"

Break a Leg Theater Works is excited to launch our 2025 season with In Transit, Broadway’s first a cappella musical!

This dynamic show, created by Academy Award-winner Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Frozen, Frozen JR.), James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan, and Sara Wordsworth (Frozen JR.), and featuring vocal arrangements by Deke Sharon (Pitch Perfect, The Sing-Off), tells the relatable story of finding your way—and yourself—in New York City. Get ready to hum and beatbox along!

Presented as a midyear high school musical at The Meehan Arts Barn on the Inly School campus, our cast will have the rare opportunity to work with one of the show’s creators, the legendary Deke Sharon, known as the father of contemporary a cappella.

Broadway’s Nicholas Ward, the first voice ever heard in a BAL production and an original cast member of In Transit on Broadway, makes his triumphant return to work with our cast as well.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of this incredible, unique show and to work with the amazing guest artists who help craft and create it.

AUDITION PROCESS/REQUIREMENTS

Students must first submit an audition video by 11:59pm on Saturday, January 25th

*The video should include themselves singing a verse and chorus of a song a cappella (voice only - no accompaniment). Song can be in any style.

For those called back, callbacks will be on Saturday, February 1st 10-1 and/or Friday, February 2nd 4-7pm at Inly School in Scituate, MA. Students may be sent music to prepare for the callback.

REHEARSALS

Rehearsals will take place on Saturdays and/or Sundays beginning February 8th. We will do our best to work around students' schedules and conflicts.

TECH WEEK

4:00-10:00pm April 7, 8

5:00-9:00pm April 9, 10

Tuition: $600 or 3 monthly installments of $200

*limited funding is available for financial assistance. Please email info@breakalegtheater.com if you are in need of assistance.
