Break a Leg Theater Works’ and The Inly School are immensely proud to present Matilda the Musical choreographed by Thayne Jasperson, current and last original Broadway cast member of the musical phenomenon Hamilton.
There are two ways that students may participate in Matilda:
All interested students are encouraged to audition with Break a Leg Theater Works for specific roles and characters who will begin rehearsals this coming spring. Students will audition for these roles and be selected accordingly. Those selected will begin rehearsals early at Break a Leg on selected Saturday mornings, where they will learn music, blocking, and scene study from the co-directors of Matilda, and Founders of Break a Leg, Kyle Wrentz & Healy Sammis. Any student not selected for a featured role will still be eligible to participate in the ensemble by enrolling in the Matilda summer camp.
This track is for any and all interested students who would like to be a part of our production and play students who attend school with Matilda. These students will get a chance to work with Thayne Jasperson during this two-week camp and learn choreography for the bigger production numbers, as well as music and scene study with Kyle & Healy, Co-Directors of Matilda and Founders of Break a Leg Theater Works. If you audition for, and do not receive a principal role, you are still encouraged to join us for Matilda Camp. All campers will be cast in the production.
SHOW & CAST INFORMATION
Not only has Thayne been with Hamilton since it’s inception, where nightly he plays the role of Samuel Seabury, he also was an original cast member of Matilda the Musical, as well as Disney’s Newsies on Broadway. Thayne was featured on the hit show So You Think You Can Dance, and can also be seen in the High School Musical 1 & 2 movies. We are so honored that he’ll be joining us directly from Broadway on selected days off for this production.
