Break a Leg Presents Hello Dolly!

Don't let the parade pass you by. Join us this July and be wowed by South Shore's youth talent as we present an esteemed classic — choreographed our special guest, Broadway legend Richard Riaz Yoder.

Richard, the original cast member of Some Like It Hot and current Associate Choreographer of Lempicka on Broadway, has spent countless hours with the BAL cast — crafting pieces that not only challenge the individual growth of each student, but pay homage to the authentic choreography of an iconic masterpiece.

Jerry Herman’s energetic Hello, Dolly! is a musical filled with charisma and with heart. Matchmaker Dolly Levi is a widow, a matchmaker, and also a professional meddler --but everything changes when she decides that the next match she needs to make is to find someone for herself. Set in New York City at the turn of the century, Hello Dolly! is boisterous and charming from start to finish. Hello, Dolly! features such memorable songs as “Before the Parade Passes By,” “It Only Takes a Moment,” “Put on Your Sunday Clothes,” and - of course - the title number, “Hello, Dolly!” Dolly herself is one of the strongest and richest starring roles for a woman ever written for the musical theatre, and famous Dolly Levis have included Carol Channing, Ethel Merman, Pearl Bailey, Mary Martin, Barbra Streisand, and most recently, Bette Midler and Bernadette Peters.

About Richard Riaz Yoder:

Richard Riaz Yoder is an Astaire Award-winning broadway veteran of six Tony-nominated and winning musicals. Richard is currently the associate choreographer for the upcoming Broadway show "Lempicka", and he was most recently seen as an original cast member of Broadway's Some Like It Hot. He is most known on Broadway for being that one happy freckled guy in the ensemble for which he was nominated for Best Male Dancer in a Broadway Show by the Astaire Awards. His other Broadway credits include White Christmas, On The Twentieth Century, Shuffle Along, Hello Dolly, and My Fair Lady. Richard’s tv credits include Co-Staring as Conrad on Mom on CBS, featured performer on the Late Late Show with James Corden starring Zac Efron, Zendaya, and Hugh Jackman, featured performer for “Taking the Stage” opening of the African American Museum in DC, and two Tony Awards Telecasts. He can also be heard on the revival cast recordings of Hello, Dolly!, and On The Twentieth Century. He has also worked as a master tap and jazz teacher around the country when not performing.

On top of his credits, he has had the pleasure to work onstage with Julie Andrews, Billy Porter, Bette Midler, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Bernadette Peters, David Hyde Pierce, Victor Garber, Laura Benanti, George C. Wolfe, Savion Glover, Peter Gallagher, Kristin Chenoweth, Adrienne Warren, and Beanie Feldstein to name a few.
