This extraordinary online performance arts camp will examine the hit musical and also feature 3 actors from the Broadway and touring productions as guest teachers. Thayne Jasperson (u/s King George) from the original Broadway company and film will teach our dance component. Blaine Krauss (Standby: Hamilton, Burr, King George) from the Philip tour will teach acting and music as will Paige Smallwood (Standby: Eliza, Angelica, and Peggy) from the Angelica tour. Students will not only learn music and choreography from the show, they will also analyze the characters, script and score in a deeper fashion. This experience will also include a virtual performance of material from the show. Auditions for parts will be held during the week for specific roles, there will also be a Q&A and panel discussion with our guest teachers. Thayne Jasperson is currently part of the hit broadway musical Hamilton! He was a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance, season 4, continuing on to the national tour. Original Broadway cast: Hamilton, Matilda and Newsies where he received an "Astaire Award" nomination. Thayne originated the role of Porthos for Broadway's Finding Neverland. Other tours include: West Side Story (1st National) and Oz where he played (Scarecrow) along with stars from Danity Kane, Disney Channel and American Idol. Thayne was featured in hit film/ TV shows: High School Musical, HSM 2, Smash and MTV's American Mall. For Thayne's choreographic work he received a rave review from the NY TImes describing his work as "Ingenious!" Blaine Alden Krauss is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati. After making his broadway debut in the critically acclaimed “Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812” he strutted across Al Hershfield in the Tony Award Winning “Kinky Boots” and was most currently featured in the “The Cher Show”. He was also seen in the Radio City New York Spectacular under the direction of Mia Michaels and on tour of Disneys “The Lion King”. He most recently joined the national tour of “Hamilton” as the standby for Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. In 2011 Krauss was commissioned to be a a feature vocalist of the largest celebration of the 9/11 anniversary outside the United Stated in Paris, France. In 2010 he was selected to be 1 of 20 Presidential Scholars in the Arts by the White House and Presidential Scholar Commission, and can be currently seen on season 2 of POSE on FX. Blaine is a a frequent performer of “Feinstein’s 54 Below in NYC, as well as with symphonies across the country with Spot-On Entertainment. Instagram: @blainekr
