In this course, we will take a close look at song structure in the musical theater genre. What are the structures we see most commonly among the musical theater standards? We will also discuss song types as it relates to plot development, stressing that each song serves a functional purpose in the show. Together as a class, students will apply these lessons and create and construct their own mini musical!
